Below 180gsm a tee reads as promotional. Above 240gsm it reads as considered. Above 280gsm it reads as streetwear. Hoodies under 300gsm feel thin against a retail competitor.
The styles are listed with supplier codes: Stanley/Stella Freestyler at 240gsm, Asher at 280gsm, Cruiser 2.0 and Slammer 2.0 at 350gsm, Voicer at 400gsm, AS Colour Made Hood at 500gsm.
A typical first drop
A heavy tee
240 to 300gsm, relaxed, oversized or boxy. The AS Colour Heavy Tee is 280gsm. The Stanley/Stella Asher is 280gsm and garment washed.
Hoodies
350gsm is the weight most brands use, because 400gsm narrows the colour range. The AS Colour Made Hood is 500gsm, in four colours.
Joggers
Match weight and fabric, not just colour. The Mover 2.0 at 350gsm sits with the Cruiser 2.0 hoodie.
A cap
Embroidery, including 3D puff, on Beechfield, Yupoong and Flexfit. The cap is often the first thing that sells out.

- Decoration
- Screen print, DTF and embroidery. Spot colour with a base white included as standard, every job specified and checked to our standard.
- Your own label
- Supplier label removed, your woven label stitched in. Printed care labels and swing tickets. Labels are 100 per design.
- Finishing
- Bagged, tagged and packed, ready to sell. Relabelling and finishing from 25 garments, mixed styles counted together.

Woven labels take 7 to 10 working days from the label maker, on new and repeat orders alike. They run alongside production rather than adding to it. Orders without labels are quicker. Decoration and finishing only is usually two to three weeks.
Streetwear questions
- Yes. Relabelling and finishing start at 25 garments, mixed styles counted together. A first streetwear drop can be tees, hoodies and joggers in one order.
- 350gsm is the weight most brands settle on, because it still feels substantial and the colour range stays wide. 400gsm and the 500gsm Made Hood narrow the colours.
- Up to four weeks from artwork approval. Woven labels take 7 to 10 working days from the label maker, on new and repeat orders alike. They run alongside production rather than adding to it. Orders without labels are quicker. Decoration and finishing only is usually two to three weeks.
- Embroidery suits a small chest logo and a cap. Screen print suits a simple graphic at 100 or more of the same design. DTF suits full colour and first runs under 100.
