How to start a clothing brand in the UK
There is no fixed package and no published price. The first drop is quoted from the garments, the decoration and the quantity.
A first drop can be 25 garments, mixed styles counted together, with your woven label in the neck. You do not have to order 100 of one t-shirt.
We do not sell named startup packages. A quote depends on the garment, the decoration, the quantity, the artwork and the garment colour. Send those and we will price that job.
How a first drop is put together
Garment weight
Visit the Bradford unit, or order a single sample. A photograph will not show the difference between 180gsm and 240gsm.
Label artwork
Woven labels take 7 to 10 working days from the label maker, on new and repeat orders alike. They run alongside production. Send the label artwork with the garment artwork so it does not hold the date.
Mixed styles
10 t-shirts, 10 hoodies and 5 sweatshirts is 25 garments. Mixed styles count together toward the minimum for relabelling and finishing.
Label minimum
Woven labels are 100 per design. That is the label maker minimum. On 25 garments you pay for 100 and we hold the rest for the next order.
What we do
- Garments
- Premium blanks from Stanley/Stella, Native Spirit and AS Colour. Caps from Beechfield, Yupoong and Flexfit. Held in stock.
- Decoration
- Screen print, DTF and embroidery. Spot colour with a base white included as standard, every job specified and checked to our standard.
- Your own label
- Supplier label removed, your woven label stitched in. Printed care labels and swing tickets. Labels are 100 per design.
- Finishing
- Bagged, tagged and packed, ready to sell. Relabelling and finishing from 25 garments, mixed styles counted together.

Starting a brand
- Choose a blank you have held, approve artwork, and order a first drop of at least 25 garments if you want your own woven label. BR Apparel quotes that job from the Bradford unit. There is no package price.
- We do not publish prices. A garment can sit anywhere in a wide range depending on the blank, the decoration and the quantity. Ask for a quote on the actual drop.

- Print and embroidery need vector artwork, EPS or PDF. If you only have a PNG or the logo is still in progress, say so on the form and we will tell you what will work.
